The Rio Vista Estuarine Research Station or RVERS (pronounced “rivers”) is a future state of the art research and monitoring station to consolidate Interagency Ecological Program field activities. It will be established in a centralized Delta location in the City of Rio Vista and bring together federal and State scientists from multiple agencies focused on conducting science to support a reliable California water supply and protect our estuarine ecosystem.
Benefits
- Establishment of a research station in a central Bay-Delta location to facilitate increased efficiency of on-going aquatic research and monitoring efforts.
- Bring together agency staff and other scientists working on Bay-Delta research and monitoring for increased communication and collaboration.
- Co-location with a facility capable of studying Bay-Delta threatened fishes in captivity (i.e., USFWS Fish Technology Center).
