2026 IEP Workshop

The 2026 IEP Workshop is a FREE, hybrid event (in-person and remote). Live presentations will be in the auditorium (1st floor) and posters on the 2nd floor (Rooms 2-221 B+C) of the CNRA building. An overflow room next to the poster rooms on the 2nd floor is also available for watching the livestream. Registration is required for both in-person and remote attendance.

Workshop Registration

In-Person Registration (EventBrite)

  • In-person registration will be administered through EventBrite.
  • Registration opens February 2 and closes March 6 (or when tickets are gone). Tickets are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Register for each day of the workshop you want to attend.

Remote-Only Registration (Zoom)

  • Remote only registration opens February 2 and stays open through the end of the workshop.
  • This registration is only to watch the livestream on Zoom.
  • One-time registration as the link is good for the entire 3-day workshop.
  • Links are specific to the registrant, so don't share your registered link with others.

We have three plenary talks this year on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the sciences. Dr. Carl Boettiger from U.C. Berkeley will be our invited primary plenary speaker and IEP researchers Trinh Nguyen (CDFW), Joe Merz (Cramer Fish Sciences) and Ted Flynn (DWR) will speak to staff and managers on the use of AI in work we do in the San Francisco Estuary.

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteer Signup

We need volunteers to be mic runners and timekeepers. Minimum commitment is 1/2 day.

  • Volunteers are automatically registered for the day they volunteer!

Early Career Award Judges Needed!

We need volunteers to judge participating early career award candidates oral presentations and posters. In-person attendees can sign-up in the EventBrite registration form. Contact the Award Chair, Ted Flynn (DWR), with questions.

Workshop Recording

The 2026 IEP Annual Workshop presentations will be recorded (excluding presentations of presenters who did not provide permission for recording) and shared after the closed captions are completed. The recording will be housed in the IEP Master List on the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's YouTube Channel (videos).
