The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is looking for a Limited Term Environmental Scientist in the regions of Sonoma, Napa, and Solano Counties for the Department's Lands Program. The position is focused on wildfire resiliency and includes planning, field work, review of environmental documentation, and correspondence with the public. The salary range is $4,269-$8,877 and the final filing date is 5/30/2025.

CDFW owns and manages public lands in areas with high threat of fire and received funding for efforts and activities dedicated to promoting healthy forests and landscapes by removing hazardous fuels. Activities to reduce risk include thinning vegetation, constructing fuel breaks, implementing controlled burns and conducting restoration work like removing invasive fire-prone plants and establishing fire-resilient native plants.

This position is as 12-month Limited Term and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
