Presentation & Poster Training Course

Are you giving your first IEP workshop presentation? Not sure how to get your message across clearly? Does the idea of public speaking make you nervous? Well, the IEP workshop planning committee is here to help! We are hosting a virtual training on preparing good presentations and scientific posters for a variety of audiences.
We will highlight:
  • Creating a clear story
  • How to tailor your message for different audiences
  • Best practices for creating clear power point slides
  • Tips and tricks for increasing your confidence in public speaking situations
  • The #BetterPoster layout to better engage your audience

The course is 100% remote, conducted via MS TEAMS. It is free and open to anyone who is interested!

Early Career Scientist Mentor Luncheon

Are you interested in attending the Early Career Scientist Mentor Luncheon? Registration is now open for Mentors and Mentees! Seating is limited, so make sure to register before January 24!

The Early Career Luncheon connects new and early career students and professionals with the San Francisco Bay-Delta’s community of researchers, managers, and practitioners who are more familiar with the issues, priorities, and professional opportunities. Seating is limited to a total of 30 participants (mentors and mentees, combined).

Workshop Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers are the backbone of the IEP Workshop that allow it to run efficiently and smoothly. We need mic runners, timekeepers, an overflow room monitor, and backups. Are you interested in volunteering? Fill out the Volunteer Registration Form.

Early Career Award Judges

Volunteer judges are needed to evaluate the presentations and posters of participating early career candidates. Registration opens in February. If interested or if you have questions, contact the Awards Chair, Ted Flynn (Ted.Flynn@water.ca.gov).
